My first post: Tips for expecting parents in Pune

To start with, this is my first post. I'll try to write about tips for expecting parents in Pune. I chose to write on this topic as I have most of the information ready in the form of emails I had written to my friends :)

To clarify, this is not expert advice. This is just based on my experience.

There are many aspects which the expecting parents need to take care of. For now, I'll focus on the most tiring and time consuming one - shopping for the newborn.

Where to buy kids stuff in East Pune:

1. Mothercare - Shoppers Stop (Camp, Inorbit Mall Nagar Road)

Good for baby personal care stuff - oil, body wash, powder. Almost everything from feeding bottles to car seats.

2. Pune Central (Bund Garden Road) – mainly Chicco toys and personal care stuff – best collection of Chicco.

3. Landmark (SGS mall Camp) - most options for wellness music (like Garbhsanskar by Balaji Tambe), toys, personal care stuff from Chicco.

4. Lifestyle (Kalyani Nagar, Inorbit Mall Nagar Road) - baby bed, clothes, personal care, feeding bottles, car seats, prams, baby safety items etc. Good collection of different brands.

5. Me n Mom (SGS mall Camp, Inorbit Mall Nagar Road) - baby bed, clothes, personal care, feeding bottles, car seats, prams, baby safety items etc. I liked only the Mee Mee stuff there.

6. Babycenter (Fatima Nagar near Vishal Megamart) - Good collection of stuff from different brands. Found most variety of baby record books there.

7. Softbaby (Fortaleza campus Kalyani Nagar) - small but good collection of diff brands.

8. Podwal store (Laxmi road) – only cradle, pram, baby bicycle etc. – best rates, not many brand options, parking issues.

9. Vishal Megamart (Fatima Nagar) - plastic sheets for baby's bed.
